A Look at Different Chihuahua Varieties
The Chihuahua has turned into one of the most popular dog breeds due to their small size and enormous characters. These tiny guys are very good companions because they covet human attention. They make the perfect pet for the house dweller or the elderly. If you are hunting for your first Chihuahua it is critical that you become familiar with the various Chihuahua types.
The very first thing we’ll look at is coat color. Chihuahuas come in a variety of colours. Common coloring includes fawn, chocolate, white, black, silver or blue. A Chihuahua may be one solid color, or he may be a mixture of colors. The shades of these colours will range all the way from a deep shade to a whiter shade.
The Chihuahua will have short hair or long hair. The short haired Chihuahua has a smooth coat in a variety of colours. This type of fur will produce little shedding. You could prefer to select a long haired Chihuahua. These tiny guys have a coat that’s very soft and the fur can either be straight or somewhat curly. The ears are edged with fur and the tail will be furry. Manifestly, the long haired Chihuahua will shed more than the short haired Chihuahua. The long hair will also need more grooming to prevent the hair from becoming disheveled.
Chihuahua types are restricted to only 2 different body types. When you’re searching for a Chihuahua you may hear the terms apple head or deer head. An apple head Chihuahua will have a shorter snout and the head will be shaped like an apple. The deer head Chihuahua will have a longer snout and the head will seem like a Doberman Pinscher. If you’re planning on showing your Chihuahua an apple head is what you should search for. According to the AKC website, this is the sole kind of Chihuahua they will accept.
Now we want to clear up some puzzlement about the teacup Chihuahuas and the pocket Chihuahuas. These Chihuahua types aren’t healthy dogs. Some breeders decided that by giving a Chihuahua a cutesy name like teacup and marketing them as little Chihuahuas they could get more money from their puppies. These breeders will induce labor on a pregnant Chihuahua to get early puppies that will be smaller compared to standard. They might also breed weaklings with runts in the hope of getting miniscule dogs. One of the most surprising things these breeders do is feed the mas and the puppies food which has very little nutriments to stunt growth. You should consider carefully before getting a so called teacup Chihuahua.
When you’re shopping for a Chihuahua keep under consideration the above Chihuahua types. These little dogs are captivating and unswerving, and once you get one you will decide you would like a few more.
